Studio

Oak Studio is a one-architect practice. The person who listens to you at the first meeting is the one who draws every wall and stands with you on site.

We work in a full BIM model, so you can walk through the house in renderings before construction begins, and electrical, plumbing and HVAC are coordinated at the design stage.

Architect for private homes

Designing a private home starts with the site: the topography, the sun and wind, and the view you want from the window. At Villa Avdat, for example, the house is built around the view of the vineyard and the desert. The studio guides the project from the first meeting, through design options and renderings, the building permit and working drawings, to design supervision on site. We also have experience with complex sites: Negev farmsteads, sloping plots and building in a desert climate.

Architect for special buildings

Buildings that don't fit a template: education and community buildings, agricultural and tourism buildings, and buildings set in open landscape. For the greenhouse at Sde Boker we designed a transparent envelope with rammed-earth walls, so the building works both as a classroom and as a meeting place in the desert garden. In projects like these, design includes choosing materials, adapting to the climate, coordinating consultants and working with the authorities.

The studio works across Israel, with experience in the Negev and central Israel.

FAQ

What does designing a private home include?

Survey and brief, concept design and options, renderings, building permit submission, working drawings and details, consultant coordination, and design supervision during construction.

How long does it take to design a private home?

It depends on the size of the house, the complexity of the site and the local planning committee. At the intro meeting we put together a realistic schedule for the design stages and the permit process.

How are an architect's fees set?

By the scope of the project, the type of building and the stages the service covers. After the intro meeting and a study of the site, you receive a detailed fee proposal by stage.

What counts as a special building?

A public, educational, agricultural or tourism building, or any building whose program, materials or location call for a non-standard solution.

Does the studio work outside central Israel?

Yes. The studio designs across the country, including homes on Negev farmsteads and buildings in the Negev.
